Hey, Punky - I can still remember the episode of your show when the old man was going to teach you piano. He offered to teach you Hall & Oates - and you were so excited!! But you got bummed out when he told you about the lessons you had to learn first, scales and stuff, before you get to the point of learning their songs.
Thanks for the memories!!!!

That is by far the worst CD released by them and any of their contemporaries!

BTW, hyped about the the new Metallica big time and hope for the same. It looks like it is some long epic tunes like Justice. I have a feeling it will be a mix of Justice and the Load era...which would work for me! Agree on the St. Anger, although I spin Sweet Amber and The Unnamed Feeling now and then (tracks 8 & 9). The DVD is the best part as we get to hear and see Robert pounding the 4 string with them for the first time, and it sounds better live. Besides it was some of the worst writing they did, I blame Bob Rock for half of that mess, what a monstrosity on the production, just horrible! I'm glad they moved onto Rick Rubin...
Metallica played two shows here in SoCal two weeks ago. One was a warm up at at the Wiltern Theater and the other was at KROQ's Weenie Roast. I've heard mixed reviews about both shows, so who knows about the album. Music aside, I heard they looked pretty bad onstage. Someone said James looked like a truck driver.
Guess we'll have to wait and see...

how about a solo? Ya know the worst part for me on the St Anger album was the drums....Lars sounded like a pre-schooler banging a bunch of pots and pans...in an empty tin room.

From what I've heard - bear in mind this all second hand - Kirk was soloing quite a bit at these recent shows. He laid off the wah-wah pedal also.

I think the new album will be ok and will include solos. They have learnt their lesson. Don't mess with the purist! Hehehe..
This video circa St Anger. Shocking to watch!

RATT - Scene Of The Crime (5:00)
(By Request)
From: Out Of The Cellar
This is a RATT tune that I did not know until HR80's...It has become one of my faves from them. Amazing melody in that catchy course. Great stuff, Thanks Turbo!

I think it's time to cut the last 3 minutes of "Keep the Spirit Alive". Listening to the crowd screaming "Killer Dwarfs!" is tough to take...

Well, I see why Slaughter's "Old Man" was dormant for 3.5 years. Not what I'm looking for in the morning.

I'm on the Metallica page quite a bit (that's where I got the pics of Robert that I turned into avatars) and have seen quite a few of the latest stage pictures. Robert is freaking tough! He's a fit guy and who can not dig the super long "metal" hair. Lars still has short hair and looks about the same as he did years ago. Kirk grew his hair back, looks older, but has the same hair he did pre-Load days. James looks like hell as noted. He has a buzz cut and a grey goattee (longer now than the one in the pic). From the vids I have seen, he still sounded good in voice and playing, so hoping for the best (fingers crossed :>). See attached pic from a recent show, gives ya an idea...

I was just thinking yesterday that I should get some early Great White so thanks for playing this and changing that "should" into "must"!

I love this song. I even used it for the status on my MySpace page. It says "Keir rocks hard, rides free."
