Ever since I saw the Hydra guitar and have seen Steve talking about it, I could not wait to see him play it. Per the cd liner notes I knew he used it on this tune and is sounds insane.
Finally get to see him play and it is f'n crazy. Just amazing...

> Vai shares: "The idea for this guitar and track came to me roughly seven years ago. I envisioned composing and performing a piece of music on a multi-neck instrument where all of the sound emanated from that one creation with the exception of some keyboards and drums. I sent my ideas to Ibanez, and their builders delivered this astonishing wooden creature. I was stunned. It was awesome. When I first laid eyes on it, I named it the Hydra, and instantly knew the name of the song would be 'Teeth Of The Hydra'.

New Kreator. Kickin ass bitches! :hbang1:

> German thrashers KREATOR have released the official music video for "Strongest Of The Strong", the second single from their forthcoming fifteenth studio album, "Hate Ãœber Alles". The unrelenting mid-tempo track definitely lives up to its name and quite fittingly features renowned strongman and vegan advocate Patrik Baboumian who adds thundering backing vocals to the song's anthemic chorus.

Another that is not in the traditional realm, but is metal and like to post lots of cool stuff here for everyone to explore :horns:
Vitalism is the band and they hail from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I bumped across them on YT while following another band (Stellaris)...holy shit, was floored.
Best I can compare is MathCore meets contemporary Jazz Fusion...yea for real.
Headphones or cranked on a good system required to really "get it".

This panning out to be a really cool release!

> Visions of Atlantis release second Single and Video of their upcoming Album. Visions of Atlantis are set to release their upcoming studio album, “Pirates”, on May 13, 2022 via Napalm Records! Today the band released the second single “Melancholy Angel” – a song that has already proven to be one of the fan favorites, when played live during the ongoing US tour. The single comes together with a stunning official video, including great visual effects and outstanding acting by the band around singer Clémentine Delauney, who has clearly developed further vocally and has both beautiful high tones and deeper more soulful colorings in her vocal repertoire.

Cool stuff dropping on Metal Goddesses.com this week! Not familiar with this band, but decrip said this one is a bit more melodic and similar to Avantasia, Sonta Artica, etc, and it delivers!
These bozos that keep saying guiatrs, rock and metal are dead need to follow metal sites and labels, there is killer stuff dropping almost daily :hbang1:

> Esperfall released their Full Length Album “Origins in Darkness” and a new Video...Compared to the previously released music video (Retreat Into Dreamland) this song highlights another side of the band. The pace remains the same, however this song is much more on the melodic side and Nonee presents only clean vocals this time as opposed to the harsh vocals that can be found in the previous single. It’s a real power metal song from start to finish, so hopefully — but not only — oldschool Avantasia, Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius fans will like this one.

Kick ass lineup and kick ass tune! Kind of cool to Michael be able to hang back and just jam the power chords. Many folks forget that he is an amazing guitar player (and writer) as well as having one of the bet metal voices..still.

I know some folks are not fond of Durbin since he was one of those "competition show' guys, but gotta admit, he sounds pretty freakin awesome on this track. This should be cool, killer lineup and the tune is heavy and catchy, nice!

> Former QUIET RIOT singer and "American Idol" finalist James Durbin has joined forces with STRYPER members Robert Sweet and Perry Richardson (bass; also ex-FIREHOUSE) and RIOT guitarist Mike Flyntz in a new project called CLEANBREAK. The band's debut album, "Coming Home", will be released on July 8 via Frontiers Music Srl. The official music video for the LP's first single, the title track, can be seen below.

Ok, this is new for these guys...a female vocalist on the track. Unique sound on this one, but cool when bands push the envelope a bit, and the vid, well it's odd indeed :S
