> In the wake of WHITESNAKE's massive global success, the band's founder and lead singer, David Coverdale, set out to record his third solo album in 1995. However, the plan was derailed when pressure from his record label forced him to change course and release "Restless Heart" under the DAVID COVERDALE & WHITESNAKE moniker. Despite the changes, the 1997 album was a Top 40 hit in the U.K. Surprisingly, the record was never released in the U.S. That will change this fall when Rhino introduces several versions of "Restless Heart", including a four-disc boxed set.

This is why this band is currently the best power metal band on the fucking planet. If you have not heard or explored their music, and you like power and classic, you are missing out big time.
This ain't your sisters J-pop shit, these ladies write, play, produce, they do it all and yea, they are easy on the eyes, but don't let that distract you from letting them kick your ass from one side of the room to the other and blowing your mind with how technically insane they are.
Hey, Helloween, Maiden and the rest, this is now your bench mark going forward, so you better step it up or close up shop... :horns:

Ok, I do not know these guys, but holy cats, this is prog metal/rock insanity. Think Tool meets LTE meets Steve Vai. Best I can come up with! Very artsy vid, conceptual and deep in the descrip.
ANIMALS AS LEADERS - Monomyth (Official Music Video)
> Speaking on the band's new release, guitarist Tosin Abasi shares: "'Monomyth' is part fever dream, part ritual. Its imagery represents man's ceaseless attempts to translate transcendent ideas into movement. The conflation of struggle with meaning. Pain with significance. The ultimate failure of distilling perceived patterns in the world into knowledge."

Senjutsu by Iron Maiden has been released. On the Iron Maiden YouTube channel, they have posted the official audio of all the tracks. Linked is Hell on Earth, which was my favorite track after my first listen.

Quick thoughts. Nothing that grabs you by balls. I like classical music a lot, so my initial take is Variations on the Themes of The Book of Souls and The Final Frontier. Think songs cut in the same cloth as Book of Souls and When the Wild Wind Blows. Hopefully like classical music, when I sit down at the stereo and fully engage, it will become alive. But when listening on headphones this morning while working, there was nothing that caused me to pause and say holy shit this is amazing.

Thanks for the first listen summary. I'm kind of glad they did this, I want to review before I decide to order the cd or not. I have done some pre-orders the past few years and have sadly been disappointed at times (LA Guns (Missing Peace), latest Helloween, Megadeth (Dystopia) as a few examples, so have been holding off lately. But have landed some gems too (Epica, Blackmore's Night, LoveBites as examples) so not a total loss
