udas Priest - Revelations (7:05)
(By Request)

From: Nostradamus

I have been listening to this new JP album, and the jury is still out for me. At this point, IMO great vocals & lyrics, but I don't like the "buried" guitars & production and there's seems to be alot of synth guitars. HOWEVER, it is growing on me... - HR80s Admin - I can understand that view. I think that it's definitely a twist on priest but if you compare it to other power metal/symphonic metal I think it stands up nicely. I'm really enjoying it myself even if it's not classic priest.

I've kept this album in the car for awhile, and that is mainly where I've been listening to it. While I like it, I agree, it is a departure from classic Judas Priest. Also, it isn't an album you can listen to for just one song. It's meant to be listened to as a whole - which is why I listen in the car. Being stuck in traffic both to and from work, it gives me time for uninterrupted listens. As far as the synth guitars, remember what the "purists" were ragging about when Turbo came out?

Hey ADMIN,

THAT'S IT!!! I couldn't put my finger on it, but when put it in that light, it all makes sense what JP is trying to accomplish. It IS a great "epic metal" (as I called it) album, but it's NOT classic Priest. The next time I listen to it, I will have to keep that in mind.

After the "Angel of Retribution" disc, I was thinking they would progress in a heavier direction (ala Painkiller); So, I guess I was expecting something different. They are trying something new and (dare I say) trendy (there seems to be more and more "epic metal" band nowadays).

Thanks for your thoughts. Later

I really enjoyed the Turbo album and Glenn's synth guitars, but I still also enjoy the "classic" JP sound. I think this new album will grow on me. Thanks.

Despite Vinnie's less-than-virtuoistic guitar solos I love this album.

Me too
that Lit song revitalized a song I've tired of hearing ("I Wanna Rock" by Twisted Sister). Pretty cool.
"Joe Lynn Turner, Steve Lukather - Hellraiser (5:37) (By Request)
From: Bat Head Soup: A Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne"

I have heard this version soooooo many times here at HR80s.com, that when the original Ozzy version plays, I think that one is the cover version, LOL!!!

DD
DD, I agree. I rarely hear Ozzy's version on here. You're right, the original has become the cover.

NP Andie, I like that new Def Lep album also, so it was cool!
my Pantera pick got kicked into the next hour but kind of cool how Black Lab's "Decadence Dance" pick rounded out my 1990 block quite nicely
Glad to lend a hand.
yeah, it worked out perfectly... almost like we planned it :)
Obsession - Methods Of Madness (3:29)
(By Request)

From: Methods Of Madness

Weird, I just finished loading up a "madness" block and picked this exact song, thought Sam would not let me pick it if it was in the que, but he did not care. I guess it will come back around in a few days :)
it happens all the time!
Never been played since added on 6/10/2006! I saw the Runaways live... and they rocked the arean... and they were HOT! On the night I saw them, all the ladies were wearing lingerie. :)

Lita in a nighty - I am surprised you have slept since then . . .
I saw The Runaways twice back when. They brought the place down both times. Unfortunately Cherrie was the only one in a corset.
Stratovarius - Back to madness (7:43) (By Request)

I liked this tune, but could have done without the dude talking at the end, that was a little weird, kinda freaked me out
Stryper - Two Bodies (One Mind One Soul) (5:18)
(By Request)

From: Against The Law

Excellent pick Rockhead! I liked Stryper from the beginning and I remember when this album came out, all the "puerist" said they sold out since the album was not quite as christain based in theme.

I was on the other side, I thought it kicked ass, was kinda glad to see them sway a bit from the theme..and Michael takes his voice, especially on this song, to new levels. Great, great release...
