Well DrK, all I can say it is F'N COLD in the Twin Cities this morning. When I woke up at 6am, it was -27 BELOW ZERO with wind chills in the -50's. But hey on the bright side, the HIGH today is expected to be NEGATIVE SIXTEEN!!! WTF?!? At least my car started this morning, which is always good, ha! Plus, all public schools were ordered closed today, so my kids are home with my wife staying warm inside.
Heat wave coming next weekend...should get up to the low 30's, which would be about a 50 degree swing in temps from today. Hmmmmm...shorts weather for sure!!!

I worked outside for a good part of my early working career and have to agree. Back then the heat did not bother me quite as much (ice in the hardhat helped!) but in the cold and wind it was horrible.
Weird as I have gotten older the heat just destroys me yet the cold does not bother me nearly as much, I actually look forward to cooler weather...although this 15 below wind chill (like last night and below zero today) crap is not comfortable to anyone :blink:

Honestly, where I live we get but a handful of days that are 100+, and I'll take that any day over the sub zero-ness I've been watching on the news. That's inhuman. I truly feel for the homeless and others unable to combat the brutality of that weather.
