I agree Dave. Great album. I got it the week it was released - the deluxe edition with the "making of" dvd. Thus far, it's my favorite album of 2013.
well with you 2 saying that I may have to pick it up...

Rocko,

It's probably in my Top 5 for 2013 for sure!!!

I know you're a BIG fan of Thin Lizzy. How would you have felt if they had used the Thin Lizzy name vs. BSR??? I understand & like the way they did it. For me, the music speaks for itself and stands alone. Most bands who "re-use" a band name (i.e. Quiet Riot, White Lion, etc.) don't have any new good material, so they just "play the hits". BTW, Mike Tramp figured this out with White Lion and ended it, but I do like what he did with Freak of Nature ;)

Hey RR,
Stay tuned and hear a few more tunes today. That's what my Album Of The Day (AOTD) is for. I requested 5 tunes in a row from that album, but due to the request/play rules hear at HR80s, each song will play about 2 hours apart. So, you get a preview sprinkled throughout the day.

Enjoy 'em...I know I will :hbang1: :hbang1: :hbang1:

I think they took Thin Lizzy as far as they could. They were on the fast track to becoming a "Tribute Band". I saw an interview with Ricky Warwick from about a year ago, where he was saying all people wanted to hear were the "hits" - which is understandable. I'm glad they chose to move ahead with a new name. I sincerely hope this won't be a one-off thing.

It's a fantastic album. Anyone who is a fan of Thin Lizzy or late 80's Gary Moore should be a fan.
DD, I will and am going to pick this up..I love thin lizzty too..

You'll dig it for sure!!! I might even have to get the Deluxe version CD that Rocko mentioned (@Rocko: BTW, is it worth it?)

Also, hey RR, I see you figured out that CAPS LOCK problem, lol!!! No worries!!! Stay Metal Cool!!!

I definitely feel it is. There's quite a bit of footage with every member, and they don't just kiss each other's ass like many of these things tend to do(they DO very subtly kiss Phil's, and extol the Thin Lizzy legacy though).

But then remember this is the opinion of a guy who owns nearly everything Thin Lizzy ever released - including Phil's long out of print and extremely hard to find book of poetry.
WOW...deluxe version it is..pretty cool shit to be seen for sure...thanks for the haeds up guys..\m/ \m/

That self-titled B.A.D. album is great!!! Check out their second album "Nothing Sacred"...just as great, IMO!

BTW, their 3rd album is good, but not as good as the first two. LIVE album is nice and raw. "In The Beginning" album is "demo" quality, but I still enjoyed hearing their sound in the days before being signed.
Sweet, the second one is on my list, have heard that about the 3rd and was planning on getting the live one...Want to get the live Y & T live at the mystic too, I love facemelter..some great tunes and Y & T is a great live band too.

Missed that block because of lunch. When I got back at 1:30 I put in another block. That still isn't appearing in the queue and it's time to leave. Screwed again! Or am I? Time to leave means it's beer-thirty! :beerme: :hbang1:
Lab my man..have a great weekend..and hoist a few cold one for me...I am still at work...\m/ \m/
> Last night we were watching the Sound City documentary and my son said "Dave Grohl was in Nirvana, and he was the drummer?" Yes he was, and who knew he could sing? So here is a Who Knew They Could Sing block.

Reminds me of many years ago I was in a record store (yes, that many years ago) and two teenage girls were looking at the Wings albums and one of them said "Hey, Paul McCartney was in another band before Wings." True story.

BTW - the Sound City doc was pretty good. It was on Palladia last night. I'm sure it will run a few more times.
Record store?? Whats that? Kinda sad how the music industry has changed! I remember hanging in a "record store" were I grew up. Kids today can't share that experience....
