OK, it's official, I'm picking up the new Def Leppard. I like this song, Gotta Let it Go and I've liked the others I've heard. I have about 20 albums I need to get right now!

New Whitesnake playing right now. I've been listening to the album for the last three days, and really like it, but (there always is a but isn't there?) I wish Coverdale wasn't trying so hard to replicate THE Whitesnake album. If that's the case, why not just re-hire Sykes? Doug Aldrich is a great guitarist, but it sounds as if he spent hours pouring over tapes - both audio and video, most likely - of Sykes' performances. Some of the songs on this album are derivative of the '87 album also. Don't get me wrong, I like Whitesnake, and the album - it rocks major. It just sounds like it should have been the follow up to the '87 album, rather than Slip of the tongue.
JMO, for what it's worth.

Turbo,
Yes, you're right, that Alice Cooper song was in the 1986 or 1987 edition of the Friday the 13th movie.
All I remember about that movie is thinking the chick the one guy was ummm, having fun with in the back of the camper was really hot. Hey, I was about 15 or so at the time so what else do you think I was thinking about?
If I remember correctly, Jason got them with one kill shot up through the bed? or was that from part 2, or part 3, or...

Annihilator + "love song" = not sure what to think. The lead was nice, though. Just out of place. I mean, it's a nice song, but...

Hell, yeah, of course! That one got plenty of hits on the rewind button in my house.

I am pretty sure Jeff wrote that about the birth of his first child. So we can let that one slide by...made me think of my little girl, so I kinda enjoyed it :>)

Sorry Walt, but that was NOT afternoon annihilation!!! More like afternoon NAP TIME. That tune is definitely out of left field for them.
I had to keep refreshing the "now playing" to make sure that it was Annihilator.

It was nice, but certainly NOT Afternoon Annihilation. Think we should play that one before bedtime. That really kind-of f***ed me up! Left field is correct! Time to make up for it. And 'Skulls, I kind of gathered the same thing about his child. But I do think that when I got that, I started that song and skipped it.

I can see Jarrett's point - but requesting very dusty tunes is one way I have learned what I like and don't like on the station. (You all have made very good suggestions, too!) I never knew that there was so much music made in the 80's or so much metal out there -

I think the dust needs to be blown off stuff! And yeah, some songs don't cut it, but you won't know unless you play them, right?

Song from Bodacious Ta Ta's album playing right now. You'd think with all the tongue in cheek comments I make on the request board about boobs that I'd choose a lot of tracks from this cd. I hope you all know I'm just being stupid for fun when I do that. Don't mean to offend anyone. By the way who is this Jarrett guy complaing about playing rusty's? Anyone else think he needs to relax about that?

I can see Jarrett's point, too. But how many bands have you discovered because somebody was diggin' deep or "throwin' a dart"?!? Don't get me wrong -- I love hearing the mainstream metal and sometimes I will request a "classic" or something everyone has heard. So much great music from that era and it's left to us to "re-discover" it.
Oh BTW, thanks for the Kick Axe tune, Jarrett. I have never heard that one and it was pretty good.

I agree Andie. I have tons of 80's music in my collection (and alot of other stuff), but since I have been listening to this station I have discovered bands I did not know even existed, and most rock! I like the popular tunes just as much as anyone, and we hear quite a few here, , but I like it when someone, or myself, grabs a song that has been sitting or we do not know and it ends up being a really great tune or band. Even the big bands like the Scorps and Ratt. I do not have all there albums, so I hear stuff all the time I did not know, and that is cool!
Not always, but most of the time and that keeps it interesting for me...

I was just telling my wife this last night and how many albums I've found here that I need to get. I can't believe how much good music I missed from my favorite decade or that has come out in the 90's and 00's from this genre!
Like this cool Trixie song playing right now
