Turbo, glad you liked it. I spin that vinyl now and then and the whole album kicks, so dig through all the tracks. Also check out Sirens (is that album in Sam??). Another great early release from them. I love their later stuff too, but those early albums are more straight forward in your face metal, so they rock!

sorry gang....I just couldn't pick 80's only today...I feel it has already lost it's "luster". The reason Cover day kicks so much ass is that it is once a month. I think 80's should be the same.
But it's all good...keep playing great tracks!...New Dokken about to play!

Da314..I was kind of thinking the same thing. I am digging real deep for tracks today so I do not repeat the same 80's bands from last week. But could get difficult quick.
Maybe we should have it once a month...what does the rest of the crew think??

Well if some of you are bored already, let's try it once a month.
I know I have given up on trying to request songs, cause anything I think of I cannot request for various reasons.
I see 2 of the 5 I requested this morning are already going to be bumped to later in the day.

No, my point was that 5 of 6 songs played weren't 80's or even close. Europe, Dokken (a good tune) and Whitesnake were in there but it's much newer stuff.

I'm up for once a month, too...
How about the 3rd Thursday of every month. I think that works...
Keep in mind COVER DAY MONDAY is the 2nd Monday of every month.
Just a thought.

P.S. Now this might change if we every get a RR button for 80's tunes only. RRB = Random Request Blue -- I would click that a bunch if I was in a rush. Fun stuff. Maybe someday :roll:

I am not trying to crush the fun...but just as Turbo says he got bored with my 5 pak of NEW stuff....I am getting bored hearing the same overplayed 80's songs....some of the ppl are picking the obscure which is so great...but others seem to only pick the oridinary POP tracks, which gets a little boring...thats what Hairball John is for...lol

It doesn't bother me either way. I play mostly 80s songs all the time anyway whether it's 80s day or not.

I'll agree with you there. We do see a lot of the same old hits from the 80's. I don't mind them as long as there's a good amount of underplayed stuff that isn't well known. I can live without hearing "Round and Round", "Once Bitten.." and "Still of the Night" every week. Frankly, I can live without them period.

I too try to avoid playing songs found on the "Greatest Hard Rock Hits Of The '80s" compilations you find at the car wash for six bucks. But compared to what you hear on commercial radio anymore, even those songs are good.

just gotta get creative... andie's playing a song off a 1992 album that I think kicks some 80's tunes on their ass... I just requested 4 80's tunes that have been dormant here for 4-5 months and even found a creative way to throw in some craxy lixx
