I have always been curious to what this song title was about - so I looked it up on-line:

> The Malleus Maleficarum (Latin for ???????The Hammer of Witches??????, or ???????Hexenhammer?????? in German) is one of the most famous medieval treatises on witches. It was written in 1486 by Heinrich Kramer and Jacob Sprenger, and was first published in Germany in 1487. Its main purpose was to challenge all arguments against the existence of witchcraft and to instruct magistrates on how to identify, interrogate and convict witches.
And there is also:

The Compendium Maleficarum was the ultimate field guide for the beginning demonologist in the 17th century. Guazzo's Compendium was accepted by his contemporaries as the authoritative manuscript on witchcraft. Later demonologists continued to hail the conciseness and clarity with which Guazzo analyzes the practice. The Compendium not only gives an organized account of the subject matter but provides a glimpse at the Christian view of witchcraft during the early 17th century.

Since it means Witchcraft, it was used in several books on the Black Arts.

Interesting that the Christian churches took the practice of "magic" and turned witchcraft into the "devils work" and black arts. So called witches for thousands of years were the healers, guides and shamans of the gathering and hunting nature phases, etc for tribes and many cultures all over the world.
Since this person of great power and guidenss was usually a female, the churches of the early centuries (and even today) could not tolerate a woman being a person of power. So the transformation to turn the practice "evil" began and of course got quite carried away..all the way up to Salem here in America. This misconception still exist today, even in our supposably "educated" society. Funny that intolerance is as strong today as it was almost 600 years ago....

Your Wednesday "Clarity of History" fact of the day from the Book of Ironskulls :>)
> Missed a bunch of the earlier tunes because of calls, so need a fix for the afternoon. This song tile makes me think of the Rodney Dangerfield movie of the same name. I watched it (for like the 10th time) last week, hehehe, what a great fun flick. Gotta love the 80s's comedies,so much more light hearted back then...

hehehehe - it is a fun movie. I saw Grease 2 over the weekend. Love those 2 movies for their music. They are fun movies too.
The guitar solo opened up every Metal Shop back in the day 80's-early 90's!!!The host of the show if I remember was Charlie Kendall!!!I could be wrong also?Hot On Your Heels-Rules period.
Absolutely right, GLTO. As soon as I heard the Echoplex start winding, I had a flashback to Metal Shop. And it was indeed Charlie Kendall.

Skulls....I agree...I think its like a 9.5 to me...I rarely give out 10's...but I would put it in my top 150 all time....maybe 100

but I love the Tage' myself....

its funny....the ratings for alot of good stuff on here is pretty low...never get that...and some bubblegum song gets 9s and 10s all day....

Oh well.....
