The kid's nome in the video is Thomas Mcrocklin. He was a child prodigy on guitar. He has recorded several albums and is also a producer. He lives in the U.K.

They get a bad rap a bit, and I am not real crazy about anything from the later releases (post New Jersey), but imo, there is some good stuff on these first few. I also hear alot about them plagiarizing from other bands, etc. but I have yet to hear anything myself that makes me think any different than Jon and Ritchie writing this stuff up them selves. Amazing how the ones that did not make it come out of the wood work later on and hammer on the successful bands...

thanks skulls :). and i could name a few songs that people have written based on bj tunes, rather than the other way round. though I do have an example of bj stealing too. it's always been like that. heck, even paul gilbert gave tips on how to successfully steal without it being plagiarism during the guitar workshop. and paul mccartney admitted it too.
Walt, was he in Bad 4 Good?

Haha.. I remember that video! Thomas McRocklin (McLaughlin) ripped the classroom.

Right, Walt! After Bad4Good disbanded he released few albums including some guitar based albums.
Yep, John, he was indeed!
Oh, that's right. Totally forgot that.

Oh, and sorry Sambostrat. Didn't mean to tick you off by making you look up the info. :?
WTF happened to Savatage? It was in the queue and then SAM just skipped it and played Twisted sister - savatage gone and buried... what evil ghosts are lurking around here, SAM?

I was just going to ask the same thing - I am not a happy camper right now!!???

Although I dig Nightwish, I do not think they fit the format. Would I rather hear them over some of the bands that do fit the format? You bet!

Oh, I know Skulls - I am just playing Oceanborn in the car today (1st listen for me) and wanted to hear more. I am not even sure they were around in the 80's - so should not be on here. But I like them (Thanks Keir and Stef !!!!!).

Great song from a great album. Have to get it onto my iPod.

What a GREAT CD.

Nice pick John!
Skid Row - Rattlesnake Shake (3:09)
From: Skid Row

Great tune that fits in perfectly with my upcoming block of some good 80's CRAP...
Tesla - Hang Tough (4:23)

Are those simple little power chords in the chorus of this song not some of the best CRAP you've ever heard.

I think so... raisin' my fist, puttin' up the fuckin' horns and singin' along this morning...

Read an interview with Tony Iommi in Guitar World last night. He said when the latest Heaven and Hell thing is finished, he'd love to work with Glenn Hughes again. I'd love to see it happen as well.
Me too! Fused is one of my favorites.
I concur with y????????all.

Iommi and Hughes = GREAT TEAM!

Fused is an often played CD at my house.
