A 1980 classic. Love it! Here's some info on the song from http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=6866

Iris was a member of The Jaggerz, who had a hit in 1970 with "The Rapper." He later became a member of Wild Cherry, where he met keyboard player Mark Avsec, and the 2 formed a musical partnership. Iris explains how this song came together and answers the question, "Who is Leah?":

"Mark and I wrote that together in my basement, around the piano, and originally Mark had the idea of an anti-war song. It started out just as a chant - it's not a chick's name, it's not a certain person or individual, in particular. We wanted to have a hook, or a chorus, to the tune, that sounded almost like a Gregorian chant, and somehow Mark came up with the 'Ah, Leah' just like a chant. I said, 'You know what, Mark, that's a chick's name,' so that's how we named it 'Ah, Leah.' It just so happens that there was a girl by the name of Leah who had dated one of the guys in The Jaggerz years ago, and I always loved that name. She was a very pretty girl, and I always loved her name. So instead of a war tune, which we messed around with and messed around with and didn't have anything in there that we liked to make it an anti-war song, it just turned out as being a love song. It was a total change in direction, and that happened with several of our songs. We were coming up with stuff and, you know, sometimes you just do something and in the end you hate it. That's what happened. We hated that... the way it was coming out as an anti-war song, and when we finally figured it was a nice way to do a love song, then we were happy with it."
 just trying to figure out how my request got bumped it shows it played but that wasn't the song

if you're talking about Savatage - Beyond the Doors of the Dark, at least it was a damn good song :)
funny, I just requested Iron Maiden's 2 minutes to midnight. and about an hour later, SAM plays The Iron Maidens' 2 minutes to midnight. so both are on Try Later for a couple of days now. lol. talk about timing.

Wow, that really sucked. Took me longer to log in and request the song then it did to actually play.

I have gotten a 40 some second RAR before - it does suck, esp when you are looking forward to hearing one of your favorite bands.
What also sux... making your request and being buzzed into a meeting only to come out and find out you missed the tune you really wanted to hear. That???????s what just happened here... Not a good way to start the week.

I fixed up that rating a bit, too. Sometimes I wonder if rap fans are on here voting for some of this stuff cause some amazing 80's or 80's-sounding tunes have ridiculously low ratings.
Well, it's called an opinion. They're like a nose. Everyone has one, and everyone's is different.

I gave it a 10, since I love that tune. That should help the average.

You're absolutely right, but Tesla's "Edison's Medicine" a 5? Not sure that a thirty or forty-something person who grew up in the 80's, buyin' the albums and goin' to the shows when all this was happening is voting on that.
anybody else lose sound?

Yes I did - had to fight to get any player working, but tunes cranking now!!
Precisely, Z. And BL, do you really think that tune warrants a 5? Hell, some Davy Vain songs have a 5 and he's the Keith Partridge of the 80s. Well, maybe not as successful...
> And BL, do you really think that tune warrants a 5?

Actually, no. Edison's Medicine is one of my favorite Tesla tunes. It's a great song. BUT THAT'S MY OPINION. Like gas mileage, others may vary.
finally got my sound back!
