I was pretty excited about this, it's 3/4 Dokken! But admit, I was kind of disappointed. I have listened a few times and just does not "catch" me.
I have always appreciated George as a player, but after seeing many interviews over the years and reading articles, I have come to appreciate him a as a person, he's a pretty cool and humble dude. I think the press with the George vs Don painted him as a a-hole (I admittingly bought it too) and although egos abound, it sure seems like Don was the catalyst for alot of the riff-raff.
That being said, I have not found much of George's solo stuff very appealing. I never really cared for Lynch Mob and so on. But still very glad he is out there and making music!

This is gearing up tp be a perfect follow up to the Pirates album. Second cut off Pirates II and it's awesome!

This Scarlet records label typically targets Italian, French and Greek bands, which is cool, because besides Rhapsody of Fire, it's been a mostly ignored market it seems. My faves to come from this label are Frozen Crown (now one of my very fave bands) and the spin off Nocturna.
Most of the bands that come by the YT channel from this label are a bit odd, but on occasion a gem comes by. I heard this band a few weeks ago and they are pretty cool. A cross between FC, DragonForce and Rhapsody. Tight playing, excellent (and hot) lead singer, etc.
Got this one on my to get list!

I heard this over the weekend on 97Underground.com and was a bit surprised; I really did not know it was Flotz, it had a very "generic" feel and Eric did not sound like "Eric". These two factors are what have separated Flotz; their unique style (no matter what shift they make in that style) and Eric's amazing and also, unique voice.
I recall the first single being more aligned with what we expect, but even that tune was a pit pale.
In an interview in 2023, Eric noted he had enough left over tunes that did not make it onto the last two releases to do at least another album. I wonder if the "left over songs" is coming through on not as high of caliber tunes so far.

My brother sent me this, new, young tech thrash band from the Florida metal scene (it's odd that state is still a death and thrash metal mecca).
Looks like just a single so far but the riff is effin sick, hope to hear more!

This crew left small euro label Scarlet Records and signed with Napalm, one of the premier rock/metal labels. It really has given them more deserved exposure as their song vids on Scarlet would get a few thousand views (20 to 30 tho) and their first song from the new album with Napalm is already over 150 thousand views in a week! Cool to see other metal fans discover this amazing band!
