The Epica Omega Live virtual concert, that I bought and watched a few months ago, which was freakin amazing, will be released as a DVD/Blu-Ray and cd set! I was hoping they would do this and they have! Here is one of the tracks...just awesome.

Hey tcmann; no growl vocals on this one, just Simone singing like an f'n angel :woohoo:

Unchain Utopia' is taken from EPICA's upcoming Live release "Ωmega Alive' which will be released through Nuclear Blast on December 3rd.

Another from the upcoming DVD/CD 30th Anniversay lIve release. So far it looks really freakin cool and we get to see and hear the new singer, Frank Beck, so that is a nice preview of what the next project will sound like (he sounds damn good!).

Edit*** The GR website sends you to Amazon for order and although the YT summary says Sept 10th release it is only avail for pre-order (hard copies) and will be sent out Nov 12th, and do not see the MP3 yet either. So pre-order!

“30 YEARS LIVE ANNIVERSARY” is going to be out September 10th 2021 as 2-CD Digipak + DVD, as 3xLP on black vinyl (+ Blu-ray in some countries), and digital. Furthermore, there will be a limited edition 3xLP on coloured vinyl (+ Blu-ray). Each of the three LPs is going to be pressed on a different vinyl colour.

There certainly is no lack of new tunes to check out! We have one album from these guys on the site, and you can certainly hear the Helloween influence (see drummers shirt too). I am now curious as to how this, as an album, will stand up to the latest from the Hell Boyz. This tune kicks major ass, so would be fun to do a side by side

Sweden’s power metal masters Insania return with their fifth album, the aptly titled “V (Praeparatus Supervivet),“ which is their first with Frontiers Music Srl. The album will be released on November 12, 2021. Today, fans can get their first look at the album with the release of the single and video, 'Praeparatus Supervivet'.

Invisible Monster, another new one from Dream Theater's upcoming release on 10/22. Pretty straight ahead track, not as prog as The Alien.

I finally have spun the cd set, twice, in the car, so a nice digest of the album. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant going in as the first two "singles' were decent, but not overly inspiring. But as a whole, this album is pretty damn good. It's alot to take in; long songs, lots of melancholy tunes, but also the songs are really interesting, even though some clock in near or over the 10 min mark. I was expecting another Book of Souls, which is album I like, but it's honest not even remotely an "exciting" album overall. Souls tends to wander a bit and I find myself reeling myself back in.
Senjutsu does not do that too me. Even on two listens, i found myself absorbed and hearing everything. Tcmann mentioned the vinyl was lacking some production quality. The cd's seem to be right on par, the mix is perfect; all guitars are solid, Nikos' drum tones are the best I have ever heard from him and Bruce is not too forward or in the background, he is right there in the middle and he sounds amazing on this album, reaching some new levels we have not heard in years. On the cd's the synth/keyboards are quite background, as should be, but I feel the compliment the tunes as they are pretty clear tone wise on the cd set.
I have found disc 1 as my go to if I grab this one off the shelf to spin as is carries a bit more than disc 2.
Disc 1 highlights: "Lost in a Lost World"; wow, Harris at his best, one of my fave tracks overall, "Days of Future Past"; classic IM, in your face, gallop fun!, "The Time Machine"; Gers adding his writing skills and love this one too, awesome tone and cool lyrics.
Disc 2 highlights: "The Parchment"; the longest tune on the album but just so interesting and Bruce, holy crap, his voice around the 9 min mark is just insane, "Darkest Hour", another short one but still at 7 mins. Cool tune, and nice start to disc 2.

Overall; wow, really impressed and was a pleasant surprise. Not my all time fave Maiden album, but much better than Souls. I am glad I waited and previewed it before purchasing, but am so glad I did not pass it up as I would have missed a gem!

HELENA HARRIS Releases All Star Debut Single ‘Love is your Weakness’

Ok, before you chastise me for this one, let's look at the highlights:

HELENA HARRIS has released an all-star debut single ‘Love is your Weakness’, featuring Les Warner (The Cult), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy, Quiet Riot), Rick Steier (Kingdom Come, Warrant). Produced by Mike Plotnikoff (Van Halen, Aerosmith, KISS). Recorded at West Valley Recording Studios (Bon Jovi, Halestorm).

Damn, that's pretty freakin impressive! I first heard this tune on 97Underground.com and ended up looking it up to see what the story was. Cool to see more and more young folks (Helena is 14) discovering rock and metal and creating their own path and also seeing some of our "old" rock friends supporting and getting involved! Rock is not dead folks, it's alive and well but following a different path to get noticed. The little lady is still working out her on camera presence but hey, she's 14, she'll come around and heck, she plays guitar :)
Pretty catchy tune, got the chorus stuck in my head after hearing it again this morning on 97!

Ironskulls, thanks for the great take on Senjutsu. This has been the opposite for me in comparison to the new Helloween. I have not had any time to listen in depth. Hopefully I will get some time in the near future to listen.
