SAM has a cold

Anyone else getting sound? VLC running but zero music, also tried media player...nothing.

Restarted the database, web services and Sam streamer...

Hopefully things are back ... let me know of further issues. May need a full reboot if this didn't fix the issue

Just tried it on Chrome and it works perfectly - and Chrome hasn't worked for me in months...

It's back. The dreaded new HardRockin80s.com "Error 500" pop up...

Site has been frozen all weekend. Typical site behavior. Did this a couple months ago too.

Hopefully one of the administrators at the new HardRockin80s.com will kick SAM in the cache sooner than later....

IMHO SAM needs an upgrade or at least some moderate tinkering. I know i have seen it on-site somewhere (but cant find it now) to where it said something like... 55000 songs from 1487 (or whatever the actual number is) artists.

So why are we getting SAM to select Alice Cooper 3 times a day now? Yngwie 1x or 2x every day. Freak Kitchen 2 times a day. No one is requesting them though i think there was an Alice song requested earlier today. SAM is not randomizing its auto picks to where its encompassing the entire artist list. Maybe there are a lot of artists that have their songs weighted so low that SAM does not pick them. I think this is a disservice. If the band is on here, then it needs to be able to be auto-picked. SAM still picks Thin Lizzy once or twice a day and i dont believe they should be on here to begin with but thats just me.

Somehow SAM needs to be adjusted to auto-pick from every artist on the station and not just ones rated 3 or higher.

You'll remember the great song weighting controversy from yesteryear. SAM has fallen since those values were applied but clearly there is something awry that carried over.

Here's a wee bit more evidence that the new HardRockin80s.com SAM has some lingering effects from the past....
