This has gone on long enough. For weeks now we, the HR80s faithful, have sat by and heard you assume the identities of a variety of users but now you have gone TOO FAR.

Ok...Trying to fix this bug while the Giants are shutting down the Cards (Carp was off and the offense couldn't get a hit tonight)

Lab (and all) are you putting your name in the dedication box and submitting it? I'd have to think you aren't and that's a partial issue...let me know either way...

EDIT: I think I have fixed the bug that puts other user names in when you request, but need users to request and verify - especially during peak request times...So...Hopefully I got this fixed up Hopefully....let me know...

Chris, that's what I thought because I usually don't put my name in. But one time I did put my name in for all 5 deds and it still changed some of them.

I just submitted a block before I saw your post, so my 5 coming up this morning (8 am est) I did not put my name in. I'll let you know how they look.

I'll make sure when I request later that I do put my name in.

Of my 5 requested but non-dedicated songs, all 5 were properly attributed to me! Yeah Chris!

That's good...Keep an eye on it over the next few days just to make sure...I'd continue to leave the dedication form blank too just to test...

Okay, for Round 2 I put in a dedication for each song and each one of them played in the correct order with my name as the requester.

For Round 3 I did not put in a dedication (except for the first one). For the 4 that followed, they all had my name as the requester, but they were all out of the order that I had requested them in.

I can live with that.

I noticed some out of orderness (is that a word?) last night...what I found out: The artist, song name or album had recently played so it was delayed a little to comply with DMCA rules...my first request ended up being 4th song played in my block...

Anyway, due to that timing sometimes blocks get messed up...not sure how to remedy that just yet...And not 100% sure how to get around sam playing a song that has just been requested which bumps it until far later...But at least one annoyance is (hopefully) fixed...

Sounds like this files has some real problems... of SAM just don???t like it. Chris, can you check it? If its a problem with the MP3 file, I???ll upload a new version to replace it. Just let me know.

As part of my "I" block I tried to request from the bands Ilium and Illusion but got some sort of error. That doesn't bug me as much as the fact that those request attempts counted towards my requests! So the forthcoming "I" block will only be a triple shot.

EDIT: Actually I see Illusion coming up in the queue, so either it went thru or it was Ignitor that gave me the other error. Time will tell!

Hey Lab - What did the error say? Usually, if a request is invalid, it doesn't count against you, so if you know what the error was, or it it repeats, please let me know...

I tried a Random Album Request for Ignitor just as I had before, but this time it worked. However, I did the same for Ilium and this is the error I received before:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1


EDIT: I was only able to make 3 subsequent requests, so it did count the one I got the error on.

Ahh...yeah...SQL errors like that unfortunately can count against you...Thanks for the details...I have made a tweak to the code that will at least give you a warning and it no longer counts against your requests...

If this SQL issue occurs again, I can also manually add back a request for you if it happens again...just pm me...

Dio - Hey Angel

Hey! This was supposed to be part of my upcoming "Hey" block. SAM, you bastard.

Sorry but i gotta bring this up again. SAM is not working correctly. I had to work all weekend so i listened to HR80s all day Sat and Sun and you could set your watch by when a few bands would play. For some reason, about every 2 hours, and it started mid last week, Tesla - Reel to Reel plays and they are not requested. Q'Ryche, WASP, Ozzy, Sabbath, Dio, Def Lep and others are still being put in by SAM every 2 hours or so. I dont know if someone rates a song high and then SAM thinks thats all it should play or not but it's not working as it should.

There are way, way to many different bands on here that we should hear the same band (not counting requests, i understand how that works) every few hours let alone the same day. SAM should not queue up Telsa - Reel to Reel every 2 hours on its own. It should be picking any of the other several hundred bands on here that never get played.

At least in my opinion.

I noticed that too when I was tuned in...going to have to look into the song weightings...definitely has a cold...

Although I did request tracks from the aforementioned artists, SAM chose two different songs and ate my deds...

The two songs by Y&T and Raven were probably on deck before you requested different songs by those same artists.

Odds are seemingly infinitesimal RCC but I won't rule it out.

I'll keep my ear to the ground for two more tracks rolling into the queue in the next couple of hours!
