Taking Dawn are a heavy metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada. They are currently signed to major American record label Roadrunner Records since 2009. Taking Dawn toured the UK in 2010 in support of Airbourne in March and Kiss in May. Taking Dawn have also supported DragonForce and Theory of a Deadman. The band was originally called 7th Son in tribute to the iconic Iron Maiden album Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. In late 2010 drummer Alan Doucette left the band due to trouble on the road and was replaced by Carlo Mazzone. It was announced on March 15th 2011 via Facebook post that they have begun writing new material for their next album, hoping for a release sometime in 2012.
