Stranger were formed in 1980 in Tampa, Florida. Record producer Tom Werman discovered them and produced their debut album on Epic Records that was released in 1982. Stranger tried to record a second album for Epic, but the label paid the band to cease-a-desist recording. Epic soon dropped the band after that. Despite having quite a bit of success in the Southeastern part of the United States the band could not secure another major label deal. Atlantic Records offered them a deal, but it was another unfair deal by a major label and the band turned it down. Stranger decided to carry on with the major labels and record independently. Stranger continued on until 1996, but disbanded after guitarist Ronnie Gavin commited suicide. The band: Gregg Billings (Lead Vocals) Ronnie Gavin (Guitars) Tom "King" Cardenas (Bass) John Price (Drums) Randal Holt (Keyboards) RCC
