Musical suggestions to possibly add to the station

Hello,

This is my first topic around here, so i'm trying to put this in the right place xD

A question:

I wonder why there aren't any Foghat albums on here? I think the band would be a great addition to the station. I know it's not on the far edge of being extreme hard rock, but it definitly fits the timeperiod and they have made some cool songs (in my opinion). Maybe one "Best Of" album, or some of the first (harder) ones can be a good addition, since they are not all hard and heavy.

By the way, it's a great station and it's awesome that listeners can influence it a bit themselves by requesting songs that are also really played after 15 minutes or so. Discovered it a few weeks ago and can't stop listening during worktime ever since. Thank you!

Welcome aboard, Desintegrator. Glad you’re enjoying the station!

That’s a great question. Many bands fall in the grey area between classic rock and hard rock/heavy metal. I would consider them classic rock and not a fit for the station BUT this is a member supported station where we all have a say. That’s how bands like DAD and Angel ended up in our library. So we’ll put it to a vote.

Crew... Foghat? Yeah or Nay.

Thank you for the reply,

And yes, i can understand the line can be pretty thin sometimes! I must admit i did not existed yet in the 80's, but the hardrock/metal that came out of that era is one of a kind. Much of it is often underrated, exept for the big ones of course. That's another reason why i like this station, it's the holy grail for music i do not know xD

I started liking this era when i first played a PC game called Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which was set in the 80's. You could choose a radiostation while driving and it was always V Rock (you should check the list of fine music that's on it). That really got my ears wide open haha!

Foghat is a band similar to Blue Oyster Cult with 20 + albums that results in maybe 3 good recognizable songs. Most of Foghat is early 70's and rehash in the 1990's.

If they are added to the station don't get mad if someone rates their songs with one star.

Desintegrator - see earlier posts about "heckled by the day crew" and rants about "butt rock."

Always metal!

Foghat = Nay. As with Zeppelin maybe there are some cover tunes, enough to satisfy your need for some Foghat. And since we´re on this topic (once again) more Nazareth albums should be added, all ZZ Top should be deleted, and D.A.D. should be skimmed down. gggrrrrrrrrrrr.

Hi Desintegrator, cool you are onward with the Day Crew!

The conversation of what fits the station and not has been ongoing for years ;) You notice ZZTop in here, which some (myself included) feel does not fit and there was a time when stuff like Pat Benatar was on here. Don't get me wrong I like lots of stuff, Pat for sure, but at what point do we draw a line between, what is now called radio classic rock, and hard rock, I know, everyone has an opinion and all are different.

The convo I support when it pops up in the forum now and again, is we need more of the classic hard rock and metal, essential stuff that may be MIA. Some of the catalogs are deep but there is some pretty big gaps too.

Search the forum (bands and music) and see if you can find the missing albums threads (if I see it I'll post it up). Might be a good place to see what other users have chimed in with on missing stuff and get a feel for what the consensus may be.

Again, welcome and crank it until the office moshes! :hbang1:

Maverick - Jessie's Girl (3:16)

From: Cold Star Dancer

Rick Springfield cover track that gets regular play, by the way, is in the mix.

Not to mention a whole variety of crap that has NOTHING to do with 80s metal and hard rock....but that is an altogether different topic.

So :getstoned: and do a little :hbang1:
