D:A:D - I Want What She's Got

There is tons of GREAT D:A:D tracks...it is just the 2 albums before the "No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims" album and the one called "Special" that need to be exciled!

I really like D-A-D (afterall I did upload most of their albums to the library), but I agree that their early stuff isn't for everyone nor maybe the HR80s library. Funny thing is that if you hear some of those tunes played on their live albums, they are more rockin' and better. Hmmmm, might have to spin a few.

P.S. Best album is "Helpyourselfish" -- check it out! Maybe an AOTD soon...
D:A:D - Girl Nation (3:41) (By Request)
From: No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims

hold up DD - this is their BEST album...although I am a huge fan of Helpyourselfish

WOW, who would of thought -- a debate about the best D-A-D album, lol!!! They did have a string of great albums, beginning with NFLFTP, then "Riskin' It All" and then "Helpyourselfish". I love all those albums, but "Helpyourselfish" just blew me away since every tune is great and it had a better flow & continuity! PLUS it got away from that "twangy" cowboy guitar a bit (which I do like from them, btw). The other discs have some low points, IMO....but still great, too.

Flotsam & Jetsam - Promise Keepers

How can this tune be rated only 7.5? This is one of my favorite Flotsam tunes. I just love the almost chant like chorus - so different from most of their tunes. The wailing guitar always sets me on edge, just like it is supposed to.

Slick: Michael is on TMS next Saturday with Pearl Jam. R U Fkn kidding me, Pearl Jam? What is even remotely metal about Pearl Jam? Has to be one of my all time most hated bands.

I hate Pearl Jam too. Mike M. is on the show, because he's a major Kiss/Hard Rock fan and he has a UFO cover band that plays for charity.

It seems they were having trouble getting guests this season and Eddie noted that they are only showing 10 although they taped 12 (VH1C decision). I like Pearl Jams' first album (Ten) but that was about it and NO, I do not agree with them being on TMS.
There has bee a few repeat guests already but it was awesome to Adrian Smith from IM on there, that was very cool!

I missed the ded...who is Mike M??

I missed the ded...who is Mike M??

Mike McCready from Squirrel Jam - who has no business on TMS. Who's next, Dave Navarro?

How about the ghost of Kurt Conain with half of his head still gone.

I would actually tune in for that!

They almost got their Top 5 list correct this week...but did slip in the Buckcherry. Dont get me wrong I like Buckcherry too but the show is called That Metal Show and airs on VH1 Classic. It is bad enough Don and Jim keep tossing around all the Nu Metal bands but this season has had poor guests.

Loved seeing Robert Mason. How about Paul Shortino and a whole slew of guys still WORKING from the hayday?

They say right at the beginning of TMS "Best of Heavy & Hard Rock". Buckcherry is Hard Rock and fit in just fine IMO. Throw in Danko Jones in their as well.

Paul Shortino would be a great guest. :hbang1:

Eddie Veddar always sounds like his dog just died or someone is squeezing his nut sack. And his musical influences are such classic metal acts as Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello. I realize hes not on TMS himself ( at least not this year ) but anyone associated with Pearl Jam doesnt really belong on teh show either. But I love Michael Schenker so I have to watch...

Not disputing Buckcherry or even the one note Danko Jones (every song sounds exactly the same) but since I dont see them as a fit here I would rather see other bands discussed especially with Eddie's history.

NOW PLAYING:
Firehouse
I Live My Life For You
Firehouse 3

The most over-the-top sappiest song here on this station. I guess CJ took his willy off when he wrote this song because there is not an ounce of testosterone in this song.

Rocko: Rik Fox's claim to fame after Steeler. He's still milking this.

That and being there when KISS was formed. I think he also dated Peter Criss's wife's sister. There's an interview on the Decibel Geek Podcast with Rik. It's actually pretty interesting stuff.

KISS - Tomorrow
Sounds like this should have been in "Pretty In Pink" or some other 80s teen movie.

Dream Theater - In The Presence Of Enemies Pt. 2
WTF?! 90% of the song was skipped.

Did Grinder purposely bump the record player?
