Cool, I have Dtv! This is being shot at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland, one of my metal stomping grounds. Have seem many, many shows there over the years including Sabbath (both incarnations), Maiden, Megadeth, DLR, Stevie Ray Vaughn (rip), Great White, Van Halen...etc, etc. You guys will get to see one of my fave venues!
I thought about going to this show but have seen most of the bands over the years already. But would probably still be fun

I went to many shows there as well between 1980 to 1983. April Wine, Loverboy/Huey Lewis & The News, Cheap Trick/Axe, and the most memorable one of all was Ozzy Osbourne/Def Leppard on the Blizzard of Oz Tour.

According to Eddie Trunk, only 2 bands will not be part of the broadcast (Ratt & Dokken).

They both declined to be filmed. IMO, both bands aren't very good live acts anyway.

That's a shame about Ratt, I wanted to see Juan play again.

Which LA Guns is it? Hope it is the Phil version

It's the Phil version playing. Tracii's version might be done.

I'm not inclined to disagree RCC.

I saw both fairly recently at the South Texas Rockfest 2008...and they both struggled.

I am more disappointed in their refusal to be filmed. I presume this is a Lynch-less Dokken?

Nevertheless - I sure wish I had a Dtv too it's a decent line up!
HR80s is Hard Rock and Metal from 80-89. Crank it up!!!

HDNET is available on DirecTV, Comcast Cable, and Verizon FIOS. Check your local provider. You might get HDNET and not even know it.

Originally, it was Cinderella headlining. Jeff Lebar got hurt and they had to pull out. Ratt took their slot.

I missed Friday, but caught a bit of Saturday. It's always funny how they show downtown Balto. like Merriweather is right up the street. They obviously have never driven from Balto. to Columbia. It would make more sense to show downtown DC

Stryper sounded amazing. Michael still sings great and they all play great. Only complaint is the set was too short, to the dismay of the band also.

LA Guns. Phil and the boyz sounded great too. Just more proof that they do not need Tracii to kick ass!

Great White sounded ok, but I am still adjusting to Anthony Bianchi (oops, it was Terry Illouson) on vox. He did double time with XYZ. They also sounded "ok".

Bang Tango. Agree, they sounded awful.

Queensryche. Besides the drums sounding a bit "tinity", they sounded great. Geoff is kind of a weird dude, but I think he makes the expressions big so even people in the back can see, That is a good stageman.

I guess Ratt did not have a choice but to be filmed since the lineup's got shifted. Can't imagine why they orginaly did not want to be filmed as I thought they sounded damn good and they had a long set. It's always amazing how many great tunes they have when you hear them back to back, one after another. Of course crap rock radio only plays Round and Round or maybe Way Cool Jr now and them.

I caught a few blips here and there of the others, but not enough to pull judgement. Bummed I missed Enuff and Loundness....

Terry Illous is the front man for Great White/XYZ. He sounded awesome fronting XYZ and during the jam session. He sounds great on the new original album but hard not to want to hear Jack on the classics.

Bang Tango...his voice has been gone for awhile!

L.A. Guns sounded amazing but Phil sounded like an arrogant prick telling the fans stuff like well at least we got 45 minutes this time and i guess you wanted us so here we are...not doing the boat thing yada yada.

I have a hard time with Stryper and Queensryche since they both cant sing the same way they used to. Still rockin sets.

Loudness was kinda awful too. Lynch Mob kicked it good. Quiet Riot with a new singer was very good too.

As for RATT - Carlos has been with them for quite some time now. Perfect fit too. Good to see Juan back although Robbie Crane was awesome when I saw the Out Of The Cellar Anniversary tour where they played the album in it's entirety.

Warrant was the cream of the crop for the entire Saturday show (I also missed Friday). Robert Mason is a great front man period and the band played new stuff and old stuff and rocked their 45 hard.
You've got your whole life to be an asshole, why not take tonight off?
