I got floors seats to Van Halen for my son. He was soooo looking forward to it!He was counting down the days... Now I'm going instead of him because he landed a government job which started on May 1st. He lives 500 miles away so he really can't make the show.

The concert is tonight!

I thought Van Halen rocked! I spent $350 on tickets and they were worth every penny.

Eddie was on top of his game, Alex and Wolfgang sounded great, and David Lee was Diamond Dave again! Both Eddie and Dave seemed to be having a good time all night.

My husband thought VH would open with "Jump." I knew "Jump" would be the closer,though. Was trying to guess what they'd open with...then Van Halen was on stage."Unchained". Excellent!

"Unchained" was followed by "Running with the Devil","She's the Woman", "Romeo Delight" and then "Tattoo." I was surprised they jumped into some new material so quickly.

About 4 minutes into "Everybody Wants Some" Dave stopped and asked,"This isn't going out over the internet, is it? Tell you what...I'm going email you a couple of hot pictures." He then asked a girl in the audience,"What are you laughing at, young stuff? I was making sex tapes before you even existed." Cheers from the crowd. "Now, there's a certain point in your life when that stuff is cool. Back in 1982 I was as sexy naked motherfucker!" More cheers. "Oh she's still laughing. Y'know, this isn't my first time through this town. Why,I could be your father!"
Just what you expect from Dave.

Alex did a drum solo after "Pretty Woman". Ice Cream began Man with Dave on stage alone--Wolfie and Eddie had disappeared--playing an acoustic guitar and the screen behind him showed a dog running through a field. Later the screen showed the dog coming back, chasing sheep.Dave started telling the crowd that these are his dogs in the video, they herd sheep and cattle, and that he competes with his dogs in Europe when he isn't touring or making music. Dave wanted to talk about it so I was up for it.

The full setlist was: Unchained, Runnin' With the Devil,She's the Woman, Romeo Delight,Tattoo, Everybody Wants Some!!,Somebody Get Me a Doctor, China Town ,Hear About It Later,Pretty Woman,(Drum solo),You Really Got Me,The Trouble with Never,Dance the Night Away,I'll Wait,Hot for Teacher,Women In Love ,Girl Gone Bad ,Beautiful Girls,Ice Cream Man, Panama ,Eddie's guitar solo,Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, and Jump.

Yeah,the only thing disappointing about the show was realizing how OLD some of the fans had gotten. Instead of enjoying the show, some of them had the attitude of,"I spent a lot of money to come here, so impress me, damn it!"

During Panama, Dave said,"This is the point where I'm supposed to reach down between my legs.Anyone care to help me?" Some people thought he said that because he forgot the lyrics--and complained!

Expecting to Dave to behave like Sting is like Alice Cooper to act like Bono. Thankfully, it just ain't happening.

Had quite the eventful week here last week--I saw Van Halen on the Monday and Rammstein on Sunday!

My daughter and her boyfriend flew in for Rammstein.Talk about your Mother's Day celebration, eh! They left today, both sporting new Rammstein tattoos.

I saw Rammstein in Chicago at one of the Rockstocks (97 or 98?)...Was around when Du Hast was out ... Been oh...14 or so years ago Man...has it been that long...Guess I'm Gettin' older by the day...

Rammstein puts on one heck of a show, eh? It can be best summed up as,"Wow!"

Van Halen cancels all tour dates after June 26th with no explanation given:
