I thought it would be interesting to have a thread where we can talk about the latest music we've bought. Here is my latest ebay purchase. I mostly bought it because of the Fates Warning LP, which has the original artwork that really is as incredibly bad as everyone says. A pretty good deal for less than $4 each, shipping included! Obsession – Marshall Law: An excellent EP with a heavy Judas Priest vibe. I already owned it, but this copy has the insert.
Fates Warning – Night on Bröcken: Luckily, the music on this is way better than the cover art. They would improve with the next 2 albums, but the first 3 with John Arch on vocals far outshine anything they did with Ray Alder.
Hirax – Raging Violence: Another early record on the Metal Blade label, this has some great songs but most of them kind of sound the same. To give you an idea of the kind of music they play, all 14 songs total less than 30 minutes. Yes, this is pure speed metal!
Venom – Nightmare: I've always thought this band was hugely overrated. This one's going straight into the trade box.
Oz – III Warning: I had always heard that Fire in the Brain was their only good album. However, while that is their best, this one is still pretty good.
Motörhead – Iron Fist: I don't think I need to introduce this classic.
I recently sold a lot of my old computer stuff and a few video games on eBay, so expect to see a few more posts like this!
Cool idea Keir. I'm sure this will be a continuing thread.
The last album I bought entirely by itself was the latest Crashdiet. A week prior to that was a trip to Amoeba Music where I picked up a King's X greatest hits, that I didn't know existed, the latest Glenn Hughes, Winger's "IV" (never got that when it first came out), an Enuff Z'Nuff greatest hits - which I also didn't know existed - and 'Hurricane Eyes" by Loudness.
great thread i recently bought rush's snakes and arrows and poison's greatest hits and the doors greatest hits i also ordered metallica's garage inc. this morning next will be seether's new cd with the new song fake-it love their music too dee 8)
I just got myself a copy of "Trespass - One of these Days Anthology"
By the way, "Oz - III Warning"? Yeah, not bad. Do me a favour, spin 3rd track "Runner" for me will ya!
Yes, "Runner" is a killer tune. Also, that Trespass compilation is absolutely essential for NWOBHM fans! I got some more records from eBay the other day:

Finally got one at a decent price, and luckily the condition was better than the seller described (probably why the price was what it was). Trivia: Metallica had planned to cover the track "White Lightning" on their "Garage Days" EP, but for some reason it didn’t work out.

Most of the songs are pretty light and they even get a bit "funky" at times unfortunately. The epic "Black Velvet Stallions" makes it worthwhile though.
Pretty cool finds Keir. I have three of the four you just got - Budgie, Queen and Sparks. This is kinda funny, 'cause just yesterday, I had a Sparks song running through my head. Did you find these on vinyl? Reason I ask is, there's a lot of things that haven't been released on cd yet as far as I know.
It was a song off the Kimono My House album. I think oit's called "Albert's Almanac" or something like that.
Since I'm on this thread, just picked up Endeverafter's latest - Kiss or Kill. Great stuff in a kind of Crashdiet way. Not as dark lyrically though. Straight ahead rock with lots of guitar and double bass drumming.
My last big record purchase was all Russian (which I neglected to post here), this time I went for a full house: 3 German metal LPs and 2 NWOBHM! Got them all from the Total Recall website. Pain in the ass to find anything on their site, but if you look hard enough you can find some bargains. Shame they put stickers on everything. This image is hidden for guests.
